The NVMA offers two meetings annually in January and June. Members receive preferred rates to attend the two conventions provided each year by the NVMA. The NVMA is made up of seven Districts which offer various CE opportunities throughout the year.
NVMA represents the Nebraska veterinary profession at the State Capitol. The NVMA lobbyist Zulkoski | Weber, LLC monitors legislation daily and works with the NVMA Board of Directors and Legislative Committee to ensure that veterinary issues are appropriately addressed and they strive to position veterinarians as the experts on animal health and welfare issues.
Power of Ten Leadership Academy
The Power of Ten (P10) Leadership Academy is open to young veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians. The program is designed to cultivate leadership capacity and provide learning experiences that will enrich the individual and benefit the individual’s work, community, and profession. It’s a way to help recent graduates answer questions like:
- “How can I get a better grasp on what makes me tick?”
- “How can I form, manage and be a part of an effective team?”
- “Who am I in the bigger picture, and what can I give to my family, my community, and my profession that will be my legacy?”
NVMA participates in the Birthing Pavillion at the Nebraska State Fair
Animal Hall of Fame Award
Outreach Program in which vouchers are given to graduates of service dog teams to use toward the care of their animal.
The Nebraska Veterinary Views is the quarterly newsletter to provide information to members, update on key issues, free classified ads to members, and calendar of events and opportunities.
The Professional and Consumer Relations Committee oversees client complaints, often resolving the complaint before legal or licensure action is initiated.
