Mixed Animal Veterinarian [Albion, NE]
Privately owned, mixed animal, family friendly clinic is looking for a full or part time veterinarian to join our team.
Our Location:
Albion (population 1650) is a progressive community on the edge of the Sandhills with an excellent school system, and a newly expanded hospital/clinic. Albion offers a top-notch golf course with country club, well equipped fitness center, and a new child care center. Albion has a lot to offer as the hub for the surrounding areas. We are approximately 54 Miles from Norfolk, 65 Miles from Grand Island, and 118 Miles from Lincoln. In a rural setting with a high animal to veterinarian ratio we are likely to qualify for VMLRP.
Our Clinic:
We operate out of a newly renovated building with separate areas for small animal, food animal, and equine. We have a separate exam room, isolated radiograph room, spacious surgery/treatment/dental area, and a well-equipped haul-in for cattle processing. We provide service inhouse as well as remotely. We have a portable hydraulic chute, portable bovine c-section trailer, and portable equine stocks.
Our case load is 50/50 small and large animal. Small animal is mainly canine/feline with some pocket pets. List of Duties would include but not be limited to vaccinations, wellness exams, illness exams, treatments, routine blood work and draws, radiographs and ultrasound imaging, reproductive work, general soft tissue surgeries, and dentistry. Large animal consists of cow-calf with some feedlot/backgrounder, small ruminant, and equine. List of duties would include but not be limited to pregnancy checking/ultrasound, vaccination/processing, OB work, general surgery, breeding soundness exams, post mortems and client consultation.
We have EZ Vet software, full line of Idexx blood machines, gas anesthesia machine, autoclave, digital radiographs, ultrasound, soft tissue surgery instruments, small animal dentistry equipment and equine power float dentistry equipment.
We have a passionate support staff to help with mentorship. We are extremely flexible and provide an enjoyable work environment. We take pride in providing high quality care in a small-town setting.
Applicant should possess:
• A willingness to practice on all species but specialty interest is welcome and encouraged. We are open to adding specialties.
• A desire to continue to learn and grow.
• The ability to provide excellent care while building long lasting relationships.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language.
• Patience and compassion towards animals, clients and team members.
• Problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
What to expect:
• Full time position would have a 4-day work week with Rotating on call and Saturday responsibility.
• Part time position can negotiate number of days per week and will have rotating on call and Saturday responsibility.
