Sandhills Equine is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing equine practice in rural Nebraska. This position is ideal for a technician who wants to be hands-on, trusted, and fully utilized as a medical professional.

We are a full-service equine veterinary practice offering mobile services and a haul-in facility, serving ranch, performance, and pleasure horses across the Sandhills. Our clinic values integrity, teamwork, and doing right by our clients and their horses.

Why This Is Not a Typical Tech Job:
This is not a role where you are limited to basic tasks. At Sandhills Equine, you are an essential part of patient care and are encouraged to practice at the top of your license.

Hands-on involvement in cases from start to finish
Work side-by-side with veterinarian in the field and clinic
Trusted with responsibility and not micromanaged
Build real relationships with clients and follow cases through
Opportunities to grow skills in lameness, reproduction, emergency care, and surgery support
If you feel underutilized in your current role, this job was built for you.

Job Responsibilities:
IV catheter placement and maintenance
Administering medications and treatments (IV, IM, SQ, oral) under veterinary direction
Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Assisting with surgical and standing procedures (including castrations and wound care)

Medical records, inventory, and controlled drug compliance
Helping maintain clinic, vehicles, and equipment
Mentoring assistants or students when applicable

Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician (or license-eligible in Nebraska)
Strong work ethic and willingness to help where needed
Comfortable working with horses in clinic and field settings
Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Equine experience preferred, but motivated LVTs transitioning from other areas of veterinary medicine are encouraged to apply.
