Clinical Veterinarian | Woodland Animal Hospital
Full-Time / Hickman, Nebraska
Date Posted: 8/12/2026
Looking for a Practice Where You Can Love What You Do and Who You Do It With?
At Woodland Animal Hospital, we believe great veterinary medicine starts with great people.
We're a family-owned, independently operated practice serving pets and their families in southeast Nebraska. While we're proud of the medicine we practice, we're equally proud of the culture we've built - a culture where teamwork matters, people are supported, and veterinarians are encouraged to build careers that fit their goals and interests.
We're currently looking for a Clinical Veterinarian to join our team in Hickman, NE. Our practice is predominately small animal with a smaller but growing equine patient load as well as an integrative medicine approach to support rehabilitation and pain management.
Why Woodland?
Because Life Outside the Clinic Matters, Too
Veterinary medicine is incredibly rewarding work, but it shouldn't come at the expense of your family, health, or personal goals.
We believe the best veterinarians are those who have the time and energy to enjoy life outside of work. That's why we've worked intentionally to create an environment that supports balance, flexibility, and long-term career satisfaction.
We want our doctors to enjoy coming to work - and still have plenty left in the tank when they head home.
Because Culture Isn't Just a Buzzword Here
As a two-doctor practice, we work closely together and genuinely enjoy doing so.
You'll find a team that communicates openly, supports one another, and isn't afraid to jump in and help when needed. Questions are welcomed, ideas are valued, and collaboration is simply part of how we operate.
Being independently owned means decisions are made locally, relationships matter, and leadership remains accessible and invested in the success of the team.
Because Your Career Should Be Yours to Build
One of the things we're most passionate about is helping veterinarians create careers that fit who they are.
Maybe you love surgery. Maybe dentistry is your thing. Maybe you're interested in behavior, internal medicine, ultrasound, rehabilitation, equine, or something you haven't discovered yet.
At Woodland, continuing education isn't viewed as a checkbox - it's an investment. We actively encourage our doctors to explore areas of interest, pursue additional training, and continue developing the skills that make veterinary medicine exciting and fulfilling.
